Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 August 2026
Privacy. Period. is built so your cycle data belongs to you alone. We do not collect it, we cannot see it, and it never leaves your device. This policy explains that in plain language.
1. The short version
Privacy. Period. is a period and cycle tracker for iOS and Android. It has no user accounts and no servers that store your information. Everything you log stays on your device, encrypted. We collect no personal data, run no analytics, show no ads, and use no third-party tracking. Because we never receive your data, we have nothing to sell, share, or disclose.
2. Information we collect
We collect nothing. The app does not require a name, email address, phone number, or account of any kind. The health information you enter (period dates, flow, symptoms, moods, notes, and similar) is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else.
Specifically, we do not collect or receive:
- Your cycle, health, or fertility data
- Your name, email, or contact details
- Advertising identifiers or device identifiers
- Location data
- Usage analytics, crash logs, or diagnostics
- Contacts, photos, or files
3. How your data is stored and protected
Your data is saved in a database on your device that is encrypted at rest using AES. The encryption key is derived from the PIN you choose and, if you enable it, released through your device biometrics (Face ID or Touch ID). The key is never stored in readable form, and we hold no copy of it. Without your PIN, the stored file is unreadable.
Optional backups are created only when you choose to make one. A backup is a single file encrypted with a passphrase that you set. We never see the file or the passphrase.
4. Device permissions
- Face ID / Touch ID / biometrics: used only on your device to unlock the app. Biometric data never leaves your device and is never sent to us.
- Notifications: optional reminders are scheduled locally on your device. There is no push server, and reminder text never includes cycle details.
The app does not request network access to transmit your data, and it functions fully offline.
5. Purchases
Privacy. Period. is a one-time purchase made through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Those transactions are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your payment details. We may receive anonymous, aggregate sales information from the stores that does not identify you.
6. No sharing, no selling, no third parties
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose your personal information, because we never have it. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software.
7. Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal data that a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing on our side to access, export, or delete. You are always in full control of your data on your device: you can edit any entry, and you can erase everything permanently at any time from the app settings.
8. Children
The app is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
9. Store privacy disclosures
On the Apple App Store, Privacy. Period. is labeled Data Not Collected. On Google Play, our Data Safety section states that no data is collected or shared. These labels match the behavior described in this policy.
10. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app works in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Because the app collects nothing today, any future change that involved collecting data would be clearly disclosed here and, where required, presented to you in the app for your consent.
